Qin (Chet) Wang, Geological Manager – Houston
Mr. Wang joined Gustavson Associates, LLC in October 2017. Trained in both geology and geophysics, Mr. Wang has over 30 years of international oil and gas exploration and field development experience with Chevron and CNOOC. He has served as an exploration geoscientist, new field development project manager and subsurface team leader. For the last 5 years, he has focused on developing geoscience workflows for exploration risk management, fluvial reservoir prediction, DHI for prospect evaluation and geo-steering for horizontal production wells.
Mr. Wang has involved in numerous world-class development projects such as Gorgon, Jansz-Io, Agbami, Loran-Manatee and SZ36-1. His responsibilities include preparing reserve reports, overall field development plan, development well planning and programs for reservoir and production surveillance.
He also worked on detail technical assignments such as well log correlation, seismic interpretation, well to seismic tie, velocity modeling, fluvial reservoir characterization, AVO and inversion. He is an expert in technical due-diligence with data-room visits and reserve auditing.
