RICK HILDEBRAND, SENIOR GEOLOGIST
Mr. Hildebrand joined Gustavson Associates with 18 years of experience in sedimentary petrology, well log interpretation, geologic mapping, and data analysis. He has specialized experience in aspects of coal geology and unconventional gas resources, including geochemistry, petrography, depositional modeling, and reservoir properties assessment. Mr. Hildebrand has practical knowledge of field and laboratory procedures to collect and determine chemical and mineral composition of geologic materials. He is skilled in methods of effective data presentation, technical report writing, and geologic map preparation, as well as being proficient in using PETRA software.
His field experience includes managing an exploratory drilling project in the Goose Creek Basin in south central Idaho. He produced a large-scale geologic map and mineral resource assessment of this study area. Mr. Hildebrand worked as a team member of coal exploratory drilling projects in Colorado, New Mexico, and Wyoming. He interpreted subsurface geology from drill cutting samples and geophysical logs of drill holes. His international experience includes selection as part of a team of experts for a coal exploration project in the Lakhra Coal field in Pakistan. Mr. Hildebrand’s experiences with examining and sampling coal-bearing rocks at outcrops and in surface and underground mines throughout the Rocky Mountain region, as well as collecting samples of coal and shale for gas content measurements from boreholes in Oklahoma and Texas make him an asset to both the mining and petroleum sectors of Gustavson Associates.
