ABOUT APPRAISAL OF OIL AND GAS PROPERTIES
This two-day seminar provides methods for determining the fair market value of oil and gas properties from reserve reports, the marketplace, and the buyer's own investment criteria. Numerous case histories of recent transactions with appraisal forms and checklists are featured in this course. Gustavson also discusses how to evaluate sensitivities of different methods of determining fair market values, appraising mineral lands, translating internal rate of return requirements from oil and gas reserves and economic forecasts, possible pitfalls in oil and gas property appraisals, production purchasing opportunities, how to predict if an oil operator will produce prudently in the long term, assessing the level of operating risk related to a specific investment, how to determine the management capability of an oil company, and arriving at a fairness opinion in a merger and acquisition transaction.

Course Overview
This two-day course will provide petroleum industry professionals with a practical understanding of the appraisal methods
best applied in the valuation of oil and gas properties, ranging from producing to rank exploratory acreage. The session will include both the formal appraisal concepts required by the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practices as well as practical applications of economics such as needed in revenue matters and market transactions. The numerous trades most recently experienced in the market will be emphasized throughout the course. A complete set of course materials (more than 200 pages with check lists and case histories) and lunches are included. Participants are requested to bring a calculator for hands-on appraisals in class.
